WASHINGTON, March 9 (Reuters) - The White House said onTuesday it did not believe Greek leaders were visitingWashington this week to request U.S. aid to help ease Greece"sdebt crisis.
"This is an issue for the European Union," White Housespokesman Robert Gibbs told reporters when asked, on the day oftalks between President Barack Obama and Greek Prime MinisterGeorge Papandreou, whether the administration would support aneconomic bailout for Greece.
